Wheeler County IVSS Coverage
Texas IVSS-Counties is the current county custody and court-event notification route. The Texas Office of the Attorney General transition notice directs users to the new service and describes notices for booking, release, court events, death, escape, and transfer to TDCJ. It also warns that county participation is not universal. That limit matters in Wheeler County. The statewide portal’s existence does not prove that Wheeler County Jail has an active data feed or that every local booking will appear.

A reported release does not establish dismissal, acquittal, discharge from all supervision, or freedom from another hold. The Wheeler County Jail release record gives the local disposition. Texas Retired County VINE
Texas retired its former county VINE service on August 31, 2025. Texas IVSS-Counties replaced it on September 1, 2025, and existing registrations were migrated. This is Wheeler County’s distinctive stale-search problem. Old PDFs and search results still mention VINELink, telephone registration, and a four-digit PIN, yet those instructions describe the legacy Texas county service rather than the current starting point.
The historical PIN had a narrow role. Telephone registrants selected four digits and entered them after an automated call to confirm receipt and stop repeat calls. A migrated user may recognize that workflow, but a new IVSS registrant should follow the live screen. Do not create a four-digit PIN unless the current interface asks for one. Migrated users were directed to update portal passwords and preferences while calls and texts moved to the new provider.

Match Wheeler Release Systems
Notification systems follow custody boundaries. A person booked at Wheeler County Jail belongs in the county channel only if Wheeler’s source participates. A county release event may really be a transfer. Check the Wheeler County Jail record for destination, then check the receiving system. Federal and immigration records are not supplied by the Texas county portal. A person missing from one database may still be held by another authority.

Save the IVSS notification history, delivery time, and event wording when available. Those details help the sheriff or support staff trace a delayed or conflicting alert.
